Busting Myths About Women in STEM
The gender equality saga that has recently been played out by Australian television networks reminded me of an article I read this time last year. It was an occasional paper released by the Office of the Chief Scientist. It outlined four myths and their relating facts pertaining to Women in STEM. I see these myths drawing very distinct parallels with the media industry and perhaps many more industries across Australia. What will it take to close the great divide? I do not have an answer for such a question, but I am in complete disbelief that it is still a necessary topic of discussion in this century.
